This is the home of the Rocketware project. While most altimeters for amateur rocketry are either closed or rather simple designs. Rocketware is different. All hardware and software will eventually be published under the GPL or a Creative Commons license. Also rocketware hardware tries to be state of the art. The current design uses a Blackfin 537 from Analog Devices at 600MHz and contains a generous selection of interfaces including Ethernet, RS-232, CAN. It runs on a Linux operating system, a special device driver was written to read the sensors at 2ksps. For more details about the project, please see the project description.
On december 15, 2007, the first hardware prototype and its software were finally ready for a first flight test. For the results, please check the report from the test flights . |
